The science retreat was really fun! i took tons of pictures, well maybe just a few. But they are really nice, and i am proud of 'em:) . We had to listen to talks, but they WERE interesting. You see, they talked about sharks, turtles, dugongs and watched a clip on pink dolphins. All the creatures mentioned, except the latter, are facing threats by humans. Humans kill sharks for their fins, for sport and for their jaws. Shark movies such as JAWS obviously didnt help them. Turtles are hunted for their shells and skin. Dugongs, get this, get sliced into HALVES when a fast moving boat comes along. Its because they move rather slow. All of the marine creatures face threats from discarded fishing nets, which can be up to a length of many kilometres. The attraction of underwater world for me was the sea angels. They are about, 2 cm in length? and can survive only at low tempretures. They exist in the artic ocean, where its very cold. They do not have sexes, meaning one sea angel will have both the male and female sexual organs. They feed on small marine snails and Only have the sense of touch. they are really adorable looking, and i never knew they existed. The floor of underwater world tunnel is really dusty. cough cough. I got to pet a pink dolphin. Its skin was wrinkly. I skipped cell. Coz i didnt feel like goign, i was really tired. Why? Because some idiot woke us up at 5 when we were supposed to wake at 7+. nutters. So guess what i did? I sat at Uncle bobby's, ate egg sandwiches. And sang the misiion impossible theme with wanzhen on the phone. People looked at me like i was nuts. Oh well.this is a long post. by the way. the translucent being you see in the pic above is a sea angel. i promise you they look better in real life.
